Heritage Faith
Riderz is dedicated to reaching people for Christ on the highways and byways
through motorcycling. We are an outreach extension of
Heritage Baptist
Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Our group is open to men and women
who have a heart to reach out to the central Alabama area and beyond with the
love of God and Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are committed to discipleship,
fellowship, and outreach.
How to
become a Christian
To become a Christian you must do
two things.
Jesus said: Repent and believe the good news
[the Gospel] (Mark 1:15)
First, you must repent, which means to turn around; This means you are going
one way, living your life the way you want, but you turn around and start
living your life like God wants. Repentance is a change of mind followed by a
change in attitudes and actions. It is deciding to turn from your sin and let
Jesus Christ be the Lord, or boss, of your life.
Second, Jesus said you must believe the good news, or believe the Gospel. To
believe the Gospel means that you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who
died on the cross for your sins. Not only must you believe Jesus died on the
cross for your sins, but also you must believe that three days later God
raised Him from the dead. Believing in the resurrection of Christ is essential
to becoming a Christian, for the Bible says: That if you confess with your
mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved
(Romans 10:9).
If you are willing to repent, and if you believe Jesus died on the cross for
your sins and rose from the dead, you can become a Christian right now. All
you have to do is pray the following prayer or one similar to it in your own
words. The words you say or think are not important; it is what you mean in
your heart Don't put it off!
You can't get right with God too soon because you don't know how soon may be
too late. Right now pray the following prayer from your heart:
"Dear Lord, I don't understand it all, but as best as I know how, right now I
ask you to forgive me of all my sins and save my soul. I ask Jesus Christ to
come into my heart and life right now as my Lord. Thank you for sending Jesus
to die on the cross for my sins and for raising Him from the dead to prove He
was who he said He was, your Son, Amen."
If you prayed this prayer, find and stay in a church, continue to grow in
knowledge and wisdom as you commit your path to our Lord's hands.
